Ingredients
1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
½ pound of bacon
8 ounces of sliced mushrooms
2 packages of pre-made refrigerated pizza dough
1 jar of your favorite Alfredo sauce or Philadelphia’s Cooking Crème garlic variety
1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup of shredded parmesan cheese
1/2 cup of olive oil
Directions
Slice chicken into strips, and season with salt and pepper. Over medium high heat, cook chicken in a tablespoon of the olive oil. Set chicken aside in bowl.
Next, slice bacon into small pieces; this is best done while bacon is very cold. Fry bacon pieces in pan until nice and crispy. Drain on paper towel, place in bowl.
Pour off most of the bacon grease, leaving a few tablespoons behind in pan. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until tender. Place cooked mushrooms in a bowl.
To prepare for your family to make Calzones, place shredded mozzarella, parmesan cheese and Alfredo sauce in bowls to create a “Calzone bar.” Arrange all the bowls so everyone can reach them, and place a spoon in each for easy preparation.
Now to have fun! Unroll pizza dough from container. Place on counter top and divide into four pieces, reserving some extra dough for decorations or breadsticks.
On one side of dough, add toppings.  Let your family decide what ingredients they like on their Calzone using the ingredients you prepared in the bowls. After ingredients are added, fold dough over covering filling. Roll over edges to seal. Using extra dough, encourage your cooks to decorate their “own Calzone creation” with the extra bread dough.  Any extra dough can be twisted into breadsticks. Place Calzone on a greased cookie sheet.  Brush Calzones and breadsticks with olive oil, and sprinkle with parmesan cheese to form a beautiful crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
